New Electric Vehicle Charging Points

New Electric Vehicle Charging Points

Westminster council's pioneering pilot project to install two on-street electric vehicle recharging points or 'juice points', is being extended.

The City Council has installed a further 10 on-street juice points at 5 further locations across the City. We now have a total of 12 juice points at the following locations:

  • 2 posts at Berkeley Square
  • 2 posts at Wilton Street
  • 2 posts at Sutherland Avenue
  • 2 posts at Manchester Square
  • 2 posts at Spencer Street (Behind City Hall)
  • 1 post at Wellington Street
  • 1 post at Southampton Street

Please click here to view a map of juice point locations.

The City Council is inviting any owner of an electric vehicle who lives or works in Westminster to register to use the UK’s largest network of on-street recharging points. Anyone interested in using the juice points should first apply for Westminster’s Electric Ecomark which is free.

To register:

Existing Ecomark holders: call 01273 704 775 or e-mail mary@elektromotive.com or complete our online contact form.

Non-Ecomark holders: Register for Ecomark and request membership for the on-street recharging project.

Membership of the recharging scheme costs £75 per year. All registered members will receive a membership pack including:

  • An information booklet to explain how the recharging posts will work.
  • A high visibility, yellow coiled charging cable, which must be used when recharging.
  • An individually programmed key which will allow access to the recharging point.
  • Access to the telephone help line in case of queries or issues.
  • The terms and conditions of use.

The installation of the above 10 juice points is the second phase of our pilot project. We hope to continue the expansion of infrastructure provision depending on sufficient take-up of the scheme and the use of these bays. We also have almost 50 electric vehicle recharging bays within our Car Parks, which are available to Westminster Car Parks Green Card scheme members.
